Hi there to you all, i`ve got 2003 BMW 530i SE uk spec, the question i want to ask is that i have a standard heater control panel which has the normal directional control, blower speed, and temperture setting, i have just bought an updated version of this panel which has temperture settings for both passenger and driver side, blower speed which has rotary knob on it, rest function. Will this panel work if i took out the old one out and replace it with the updated panel. part number 6411 6942684-01
updated panel picture

My second question is will i need to update the I Drive to accomandate the heater control panel, so i can control the direction of the air flow?
thanks in advance

You will need some programming if nothing else to get the features, also the Advanced air con also comes with a rear temp control but I dont actually believe you need that. Your dealer will need to try and program in the advanced air con into the car after you install the panel. If you manage to get this working, I think you will be the first on this forum to do it.

My guess is that your "updated panel" will not work with the standard Air condition system, the extended air cond system contains many other things than just the panel...

Thats what happens when you outbid me on ebay at the last minute! ha ha only kidding but I thought the same thing, I really dont think it will work without re programming the I drive as on LCI this controls flow controls etc so it may be a lot of work, I would consider just using the knobs to replace the plastic crap BMW in a moment of genius decided to fit.
