I can go with that. But what if you used to drive a fake sports car and now you have the resources to get the real thing......can you convert to awsomeness or do you have to be born awsome?

and here I thought my 530i was fooling everyone into thinking I bought an M5.
although I have gotten a few "nice M5" compliments
FYI my car has an ACS front lip and stock skirts and rear...

I agree that its probably referring to others looking to emulate BMW owners.
Alas it reminds me of all the letters to Car and Driver claiming that their test drivers are on the BMW payroll. I wonder how many of them chaps have actually driven in a BMW. I first came to BMW in 2004 and immediately could tell its not what it does that is different but how the task is accomplished! All cars serve the same basic functions; I just feel the combination of ride, performance and handling is better in BMWs.

speed is not what makes a sport's car, so please don't think i'm knocking the M5 or anything. it's a beast, but still a sedan.

well, an M5 is also not a sport's car. it is a sedan with a racecar engine, but not a sport's car in any way. IMO the only sport's car BMW really has is like the M6 or the M3 coupe. i guess the new M1 (or whatever they want to call it) could be called a sport's car, too.

If this is the author's LinkedIn profile ... I'd hardly call him an "expert" at anything!
