"BMW, Porsches
Those who are adventure seekers (even if they never get out of the car) drive sports cars. They?re not calm and are more likely than average to have a college degree. Surprisingly, based on the cost of most sports cars, they were more likely to have lower incomes.

Some of these may fall into the category of ?emulator? ? younger, financially unstable, low self-esteem people who buy flashy cars that aren?t true sports or luxury cars to try to emulate achievers."

. Bye guys I need to go cut myself because I have low self esteem and just bought a flashy car.

i don't think you read the article right...i think it's saying an emulator doesn't buy a real sport's or luxury car. and i think we all agree bmw is a luxury car. we are the "achievers" and the "emulators" try and copy us with cheaper cars--they are the ones with lower self-esteem, etc. sounds like they are referring to ricers IMO.

though that is a pretty stereotypical stance of course :)

I don't know... you have to really read into the article to come away thinking the BMW and Porche owners are emulators. Yeah because every M5 and GT3 owner I know is a h8ter and works the McDonalds register.

D you recall the post a few weeks ago that had an M5 front bumper on a Mustang? Now there is your emulator.

pretty clearly they are not talking about people with true sports or luxury cars that are "losers."

haven't thought of this. But I must surely have self esteem issues. I had to have the propeller swish mark, styling and cart like handling. I should have been content to cork screw around in a tinny but practical Honda fwd plow driver. With it's 23 mpg 145 lbs of torque.

How low have I gone with 360 lbs of usable torque and cart like handling bangle styling.

Wow, now that was funny! They nailed it. I'm trying to emulate the achievers that drive Cadillacs and Lexus.

Haters

Well just the maintenance on our cars should steer most low income people away from purchasing one; as its not financially responsible -- it also sounds like the articles author is bitter.
