Hello all,
I have a BMW 2006 525D.
My navigation DVD had an error where it would work one moment and then suddenly stop working.
I thought that maybe an updated DVD "BMW Roadmap Europe Professional 2010 update" might do the trick, for now I have not came accross any problems.
However the dealer where I bought the new DVD from, wants my old disk in return for £22.72 + VAT, I found this really odd and strange and was wondering what your input would be?
Many thanks in advance,
Cream Sauce

Lexus does the same. Dealer gets rebate for turning in original old discs. Keeps the old discs from circulating and sale of new discs flowing. Or maybe someone wants to make a little extra money on the side...

Which dealer are you dealing with as I would happily pay £22.50 for the new 2010 disc. I still have the 2007 one from when my car was new but my stealer (dealer) wants £99.00 for the upgraded version
Please let me know and I will trade mine in with your stealer.

Melv

Yes, its correct the dealer and you get a beter price if you trade in your old disc. I traded my old 2006 navi disc in for a new updated 2010 disc in Germany. The dealer also wanted my old disc back. But i only gave him mine back since I got the new one for free. But I still want to change because I got one with basic POIs.

Yes Martin I also have the DVD with the basic POI's, but I am just happy that the navigation seems to be working fine at the moment.

The 2010 version is only available as Basic POI, is it not. BMW have gone back to using Single Layer DVDs because I suspect they had all sorts of trouble with the DL discs. To make space on the disc they have had to delete a lot of the POI files. I've never seen a FULL POI version of rht 2010 disc.
