My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i Sport
Carbon Black Metallic/Cream Beige
Manny tranny and other stuff
Recently gone, but never forgotten:
2005 Ford Mustang GT (hence the name)
Torch Red/Crimson
Manny tranny and every option available for that year
2002 Chrysler 300M Special
Brilliant Black/Light Taupe/Dark Slate
Autostick and goo-gobs of neat features that I will sorely miss
I was conditioning my leather and detailing my interior the other day and noticed something. You know that little felt pad in the bin on the driver's door pocket? There's not one on the passenger side. Why not? Does anybody else have a felt pad on the passenger side? (The small cubby, not the map pocket.)
Just wondering...

And another question...
Does anybody with an '08 550i Sport w/ manual trans have the shifter knob that is pictured in all the brochures, mag reviews, etc.? (The aluminum/leather one.) I have the leather shift knob, but every picture I see is of the aluminum/leather knob.

Speaking of cost cutting...take a look at the red LED housing underneath the rerview mirror of the new 09 E60. It's straight from the E39. On the 08 E60, it's hardly noticeable, but on the 09, it's huge. That was one item I hated on the E39.

as far as the shift knob- you've gotten the better one- it's shorter and weighted, unlike the one you see in the catalog, which by the way, is not aluminum- it's plastic painted to look like it.

that felt pad is what BMW wants us to think is a coin pocket, which is why it is lined with felt. the passenger's side does not have one, as they have no need for coins.

What's that saying? "Ass, cash, or grass?" I don't smoke grass, and it might be a dude over there. So he'll need someplace for his coin... Or is it "ass, gas, or grass?" "Ass, gas, or cash?" whatever...
Whew. Great news! I still like the look of the other one better. And if it's painted plastic, why is it $150+ in the catalog?
