I have owned many BMWs through the years, some exotics, some not. The cars have always had a "badge" on the passenger side of the decklid. Curiousity has got the best of me; why doesn't my '04 have a 545i badge on the rear? Can anyone answer this silly questions? Humble thanks!

Did you buy it new? If not, the previous owner took it off. If you if bought it new, it will always be a mystery because all US bound cars have badging.

Let's hope that the previous owner didn't de-badge a 528 for you. Alternatively, if the car has suffered body damage to the trunk, it may have been left off...my DEALER misplaced the 540 badge on my previous car. Recognizing the placement error, it went right back for "adjustment." Good luck and welcome.

Some one de-badged it. All US cars do come with model badges. You should put a 550i badge on, the pre face lift cars look the same...

Oddly enough, I had a E23 745i turbo car, actually 3 of them, but anyway the second one I bought the owner thought that BMW made a mistake and removed the 745i badge and changed it to a 735i. He thought the 745i badging was a fake.

It could also have been ordered with the ,,badge delete`` option from the factory.

I'm waiting for warmer weather to put a 520d badge on my 535d.
