I was considering getting the base package that BMW Assist offers (Safety Plan). However, I only drive my car ~ 500 miles per month. Anybody else have my scenario and still opted for the service? FYI, I bought the car just as it went out of warranty (50,600 miles right now).

Pesonally, I don't think so. You would be better off with the AAA premium coverage and save money, too.

How can you suggest AAA coverage instead of BMW Assist? Two different things.
Honestly I have no use for it. When I had GM vehicles in the past with Onstar, I let it go when the free program expired and I'll probably do the same if I still have the BMW when this one expires.

PS: I immediately asked for another loaner from my SA which she happily provided. (Now THAT'S service!)

That's fine but what does your comment have to do with my comment, which you quoted but didn't reply to.

I don't think paying for this is worth the $$, but that's because in all the time I've been driving cars with one or another version of this assist thing, I've NOT ONCE used it, so to me it is worth absolutely nothing. To someone who is accustomed to usinng it, it may be worth it...
