My Ride: bmw 550i E60 M sport 2006 model mid night blue
Angry Bmw 5E60 lights on display not showing forbe not working gear not shifting.

Gurus,
I have a 2006 bmw 550i m sport. I have a mojor problem resulting from the removal of my gearbox by a mechanic. The gearbox was a suggestion of the mechanic to be entirely removed after the vehicle was continously in safe mode.
now my car is not showing anything on the display except for one new error on the display when the battery is connected. the error shows a little car with cross arrows at the top. i dont know what this means. plus the gear lever is not engaging gesrs anymore.
i am regretting having my gesrbox removed because the car is now worse than it was. the other day an auto mechanic looked at the car it managed to start but gears could now engage. and the push to start was not switching off the car. the mechanic apparently swiched it off by removing terminals in the battery.

i need help.

I don't know what your mechanic did but there is a possibility he may not have connected everything back properly with the Gearshift ECU if your gears are not engaging. Try doing this yourself, it's similar to the upgrade guide below and very simple. I did it myself when I did my upgrade, took 30mns. Try to reconnect everything and then put everything back and see if it'll work then. I remember when I didn't connect one piece tightly, the gears weren't engaging.

If that doesn't work, then your mechanic did something else wrong when messing with the battery terminal and you'll need to go to BMW or a true BMW independent.

Good luck

Gurus,
My BMW 550i E60 is cranking but not starting.
I diagnosed it and i has the following errors.
1. AOB8 Hall sensor start/stop button ,key engaged
2. AOB 2 suppy terminal 30E, 30
3. AOB6 selector-lever interlock

Basically i got the gearbox removed and put back and the car has:
1. not been able to engage the gear lever after its switched on and brake step on.
2. cranking but not starting..plugs not sparking either
3. key not engaging nicely.

Please help urgently.
