Hopefully it is the correct version or software. Let me know if you have any issues.

The first thing you need to check is your battery. If it has been replaced recently with registration you are looking at a bad regulator on the alternator. This is your issue. Battery or alternator. You have to figure out which one it is. More than likely you are looking at a bad alternator because being that it is an 04 model the battery has been replaced at least 2 years ago.

Hopefully if it is a bad alternator it has not made the battery go bad. If so then you will have to replace both. If you have to replace the battery make sure it has the same specs as the old one so you do not have to register it.

I replaced the battery right after so batter is good. I know need to replace the alternator. But the alternator has nothing to do why the car cranks and dosent start.

Update I got these new code.
2737- EWS 3.3 anti-tampering protection
278D- Temperature sensor,radiator outlet
Erased all the codes and these are the only ones i keep getting back. So i think I solved my problem. I think its the EWS that keeping the car from starting. Now what can I do should I send it to the dealer.
Thanks for everything guys big help.

If you have INPA you can realign the EWS. But yes a bad alternator can cause the symptoms you are describing. Even if you have a good battery the alternator charges the battery. If the alternator is bad it makes the battery seem bad and in turn will give you a lot of electrical faults.

THe EWS fault could mean a bad key or it needs to be re-aligned. If you have INPA then you can do it with a few clicks of a button. I had that fault once playing around in INPA and just reactivated and all was fine. You story is different. You are looking at 1 . a key fault which triggered the code or 2. an electrical issue 3. both

Do you have two keys? If so have you used both to try and start the car. If so then try to deactivate and reactivate the EWS. If it does not fix it then you are looking at having to take it to the dealership. Have you had the alternator tested?

Initially you had 5 electrical faults which is a big sign that it is an electrical issue. It being an electrical would trigger the rest of the faults. Your car being a 2004 I highly doubt that those faults were genuine. The EWS would not trigger:

27BB- Function camshaft control,exhaust, bank 1
2783- Hot-Film air-mass flow sensor
27F2-Plausibility,tank fill level
27BB-Differential-pressure sensor
2863- Variable valve gear-voltage supply,power output stage,bank 2
2774- Engine switch off time/plausibility
93A8- Processor: Reset
93F4- Airbage sensor, door, front left: communication fault
A0B0- Input,brake lights, implausible

The airbag code suggests that the power switch is unplugged. The timing on the car is being conveyed as off. To me its is just too much of a coincidence. Maybe the airbag error was from when you had deployment and it was not cleared but that would have given you a steady airbag light.

At this point you have to decide either to take it to the dealer or troubleshoot your electrical issue (key, alternator and battery). I dont think the EWS turns off the fuel pump at least not in my case.

Okay bought a new key still not working(other key was broken and annoying to use). My cable should come in today so i can diagnose with my computer and try this. Will the cable come with the software or do I need to download it computer is a windoes 7 64bit btw. Just in case you guys have a link to a free download to INPA or other programs like it. I do understand that alternator can cause problems but that code hasn't came back since I erased it.

What you are asking for is a genuine BMW tool that you probably will not find for free. There are links that show up on BMW forums but they do not last long. If you google it you probably will find someone hosting the program for free.

Most people paid for the programs and cable which has cost them upwards of $600 - $700 and do not share it. Let me know if you are able to find it. If not PM me and I will see what I can do.
