Default Bmw 545i 2004 Cranks, No Start Please Help.

Okay guys I checked almost every forum about this problem but they don't have the same problems as me so I am making my own. Lets get started this car was hit 1 year ago in September(bought the car off that guy that was in accident, thinking it would be easy to fix). Replace bumper, fender, engine craddle, etc. Okay now It time to start it first it wont even make any noises. There was a problem with the positive cable fixed that. Now it cranks pretty fast (normal speed as if turning on) But wont turn on. I am stuck and don't know what to do. I did a BST bypass while back thinking this was the problem why the car wont do anything when turning keys. I think the fuel pump works I can hear it and tested it. I am stuck idk what else to do. I have yet to test if the car is getting the spark. I think it has something to do with some sensor not allowing the car to turn on for some reason. Maybe my key is broken? Bmw 545i automatic 2004 99k miles btw. Answer ASAP would be really helpful thanks alot.

Do you know the background of the car. Do you know for sure everything is plugged back in. You said it cranks... Does that mean it just sits there and cranks and does not completely startup? If so then you might need INPA to do a diagnostic so you can see what errors your are getting. You could be misaligned as this would cause the issue I think you are stating.

I agree you need diagnostic software to get a clue and a direction to seek the issue . Or else we can guess at it all day long . It could just about be any thing .

I do know though ,, that the crash safety module will disable the fuel pump . it could be the issue .. But regaurd less you need INPA or DIS to trouble shoot it .

The car engine likes cranks as if it is starting i think something is preventing it to spark. Like i feel like their is something electrical preventing it from turning on.Does it have to be those programmers can I just get a portable code reader?

It has to be a program you can hook up to the car and read the modules. These cars have multiple modules and all of them give you error messages and info messages which can not be read by a ODB2 reader unless it is throwing a check engine light.

Did the airbags deploy in the car. If so then that might be your issue. Did the car start before the fix?

You might have to bite the bullet and take it to an indy to have it checked out and fixed if you do not have any software or thr cable to connect a laptop to the car. When you own these cars and fix on them yourself you NEED the software. It is the only way you can effectively diagnose issues.

You should of bought an INPA (compatible) USB cable. It should be USB on one end and a OBD2 on the other. What software did you buy. You then would install the software and cable on the laptop.
