Steering wheel and driving position? Probably some exhaust/emmissions mods to meet US standards (well, at least here in California). GSM-based Telematics, as opposed to CDMA in most US-based E60s. Beyond that, don't think there was much difference (but I'm not exactly sure).

I would think the German cars are available with less options like...

Cloth seats.

Basic radios.

More selections of basic engines

ability to have non sun roof.

option to have no interior trunk release

The german version has 8hp more and 5 pound feet of torque more .
