I see on the e90 series you can see the water pump hoses, but for e60 528xi I am not able to access the water pump hoses without removal of steering rack. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a other procedure for e60 2008 528xi? I don't want to remove the steering rack.

Haven't done it on an E60. On wife's X5, I removed the passenger tire and the wheel well liner. That gave me enough access to access everything. I needed to remove the fan cowl to make a path to lift the water pump out.

Okay, i guess there isnt much DIY threads so i will make a video or something on the proper procedure. Also i dont have any codes that i can read via a normal code reader, but i believe water pump codes can only be read via INPA? Also if change the water pump with out clearing codes will there be any issue?

Water pump does throw a code. Not Check Engine Light. Not sure if "only INPA" can read it, but I know INPA can. You can clear the code whenever you want later - I don't think I cleared it right away after replacing the water pump on wife's 2009 X5.

If you dont mind me asking, did you check your code via INPA ? also what symptoms did you have on the X5 of a bad water pump? (My car didn't overheat yet because i have a 2 minute drive, but my AUX FAN sounds like a jet even when the car is started cold in the morning, and when I trying to bleed the coolant, there is no water pump sound or any water movement in reservoir)

I did check and see the code with INPA after water pump went bad.
Wife left the house to go to the grocery store a few miles away. She told me that within a mile from the house the coolant fan came on gangbusters and she thought that sounded weird. She kept driving and after another couple miles the iDrive said "engine hot, pull over".

I hate how BMW would rather ruin the reliability of there car, just to save 2-3hp. But they are still nice rides, anyhow I ordered a cable from ebay. I was wondering if you could guide me through getting INPA and NCS expert. (I know this isn't a coding thread, just out of curiosity if you have the files)
P.S. I had the lower sheild of the car off, and tried the bleeding procedure and i can hear the pump trying to spin but it is just clicking quitely. So i am 90% sure its the pump now.

Could be the pump isn't completely bad, but not working 100%. Or, may the impeller is messed up.
You don't need any "coding" to deal with the pump. "Coding" is programming or reprogramming a module as opposed to reading/clearing the trouble code that is stored in the engine computer.
Replacing the water pump does not require programming or reprogramming any modules.
You don't really even need to read or clear the code to fix the pump. Ideally, you want to clear the code for cleanliness and to be sure the error is gone. You may also find other things that are sketchy or broken as I did.
You don't even need INPA to read the trouble code. You can use BMWLogger – Welcome to BimmerSoftware.com which is very simple, but also limited in what you can do. One thing you can do is read DME (engine computer) codes and clear them. The free version lets you do that and register the battery. I've not used it to register the battery, but I have read and cleared codes with it. pick the version that matches your DME version. You can find that by looking in Realoem under the DME part number.
