Default BMW 2008 550i idrive problems

Hey everyone, i seem to be having problems with my idrive. Whenever i want to select some options such as Bluetooth or for the doors to lock automatically when driving it does click them however it does not tick. However, it is not just these two options that are not ticking. On the other hand, most of the options do tick when i press on the knob. Does anyone seem to know what the issue is? i tried to google a way to reboot the idrive but i still have no clue where to locate the eject button for my dvd as i dont think i have one.
thank you

I have only seen behavior after attempting to program the IDrive to display something that is not fully supported. A new item would display in the menu but ticking it would not work.

My only suggestion is a dealer visit. They can attempt to reprogram the module. You will get a newer version of the software and hopefully eliminate this problem along with it.

The issue is if i take it to the dealer here it is going to be extremely expensive. Does it necessarily have to be a dealer visit?

No. Just someone that can reflash/update the software on your iDrive.

It can be done with software such as winkfp. Easy to mess up things like navigation and voice control if you have it.

A good Indy can update all software in the car for less than $200 here in the US. Probably considerably less in Lebanon.
Good luck!
