BMW 2006 535d- key module issues!!
Need some urgent help guys!!
I am currently having a lot of issues gaining entry to my 5series via the key module!!! I have the stop/start option on my 2006 E60 and when trying to open/close the car it seems to take forever to open or close the car and seems to be getting worse. I am lead to believe that the module does not have a battery & is charged while driving the car - is this correct? As it seems to be getting a lot worse over a short time timeframe I have owed the car, I can foresee it catching me out in the very near future. Is it a case of I need a replacement key recoded from the BMW stealerships!!! cheers guys.. |
It does have a battery.

the diversity antenna is known to go on the e60 - hold your key next to the shark fin and see if it's any better.
for emergency there should be a mechanical key in the key fob, unless it's always been separate (I have the older key) and there is a slot in the glovebox to insert this key if you're having trouble starting with the normal key too. Also, check with bmw that your car's had the security update - 535s with the key fob have been known to get stolen very easily due to a flaw in the security system. |
