Well all your feedback is putting my mind at ease...
The only problem is I have to wait till december to get it. That's crazy!!!
The reason why I have to wait is because of all the options i ordered with it.
So I see myself being in these forums every day..lolol..
I just found this site and it's really awesome. Vey helpful...
I realized that on the Canadian website it says 0-60 mph in 7.8 sec. for the 2006 525i and on the American website it says 7. 3 sec o-60mph for the same car.
So i'm a bit confused... If anyone knows which one is right that would be great.
7.8 sec 0-60mph seems kind of slow to me...
Thankx again everybody.

HI

I am from Montreal and just picked up one of the last black 525 in Quebec. It's a 6 spd manual (no nav) and I love it. Great car, I was scared it was going to be too slow but it has more than enough to do the job, especially on the highway. I was able to do QC->Montreal in 1 hour and 15 minutes today.

The reason I picked the 525 was simply based on the amazing lease offer they had, 0 down and 880$ a month, tax in (15% tax) on a 60K+ car. That's 20$ more a month than my 2004 Subaru WRX STI, a 46K car!

HI Montrealm3,
Well its good to hear that your happy with the speed of your 525i.
So Montreal-Quebec in 1 hour and 15min..lolol..thats awesome..Impressive, I can't wait.
The lease rates are just amazing the residual value with 20000km a year is AN INSANE 65%. That is just unheard of in the car industry.
So your paying 880$ tax in 0 down.. Thats a good deal.
If you don't mind my asking what options did you take in the car?
And how do you find the city driving? Is it peppy enough? Can you cut from the right lane with no problems...

The statistic on the Canadian web site is 1-100km/hr, which explains the difference with the 0-60mph on the US web site.

Does anyone know if the navigation system is worth it in the bmw 5 series...
That is one of the major hold ups why I have to wait until December to get it.
I just love that widescreen though...

Why is there a hold up on Nav?

Bottom line, I will not own another car without Nav. The E60 is an awesome automobile, but everyone that gets in comments on how COOL the Nav is. It's a very useful feature too.

I did not take sport or nav, not because I didn't want nav but because I didn't want to wait for the car and they had the car I wanted without nav available that day.

It's peppy enough to pass most non sports cars so that's not a problem.

Certainly if your budget constrains you, it's a wonderful car, get it. I had the same (similar) 2.5L engine in a 325i and I found it perfectly adequate although not thrilling. If you can afford it, I think more engine would make a big difference.
