Before anyone starts to worry, I?m fine - I was just a little shaken up.
But as I was proceeding east on a main Boulevard with a green light, a car from opposing traffic decided to make a left, resulting in a collision.
Details and photos here.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
Excellent write up. I am glad that you walked away unscathed. The second commenter made a great point. I know for a fact that I sometime push the boundaries knowing how safe my car is. I read another interesting article somewhere arguing the point that accident rates would decrease dramatically if cars were made to explode after an accident at 10 miles per hour. Human nature would kick in and our need for survival would take over making us much better and safer driver. A point to ponder.

There is only so much one can do, however, to take preemptive action against an external factor over which one has little or no control.
