You should be able to polish those right up to almost new condition .There are quite a few posts on here on the same subject already . Sand, polish then seal

Have we ever come to a consensus as to what is best to seal them with?

youll need 600, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper and an orbital buffer.

wet sand the headlights with each grit for a few minutes. spend more time sanding once you get to the 1000 and 2000 grit step. buff each headlight lens with an orbital buffer and a good, high quality polish.

no need to reseal the headlights.

BTTDT. I ended up replacing the headlights from a wiring defect, but I was able to get all of the oxidation off of the lens using the above method.

the 3M kit in stores is incredible and can be done with a drill. I used it on my porsche cayenne and on the 530. $29, comes with everything you need except patience. 30 min each headlamp assembly.

If you take a close look at the OP's lens, the clear UV protectant looks as its extremely dried out. IMOP sanding and only polishing with be short lived. This would work if your lights were in a little better shape. The lens will need to be protected again with a good automotive clear or a UV clear if yo are planning on keeping it around for any length of time.

nah, you could still get the bulk of that out doing it how I did. my headlights weren't much better than that before I started. they're pitted, and probably won't ever be perfect, but you could get them pretty close.

Well make sure whatever you decide to do that you document and take good pics to show the progress and end results.
