Bluetooth contact sync issue in iOS 10

Hello,

I recently upgraded my iPhone 6S from iOS 9.x to iOS 10 and I noticed a strange issue with the Bluetooth contact sync in my 2006 525i. With previous versions of iOS, contacts having multiple phone numbers (like Home, Work, Mobile, etc.) would show up as separate entries in my iDrive phone book display, each one indicating the type of number; for example:

John Doe (mobile): 555-555-1234
John Doe (home): 555-555-5678
etc.

This made it easy to find the number I was looking for. Since upgrading to iOS 10, however, the type of phone number is no longer indicated by the Bluetooth system:
John Doe: 555-555-1234
John Doe: 555-555-5678

So now I can't differentiate between the numbers. Has anyone else noticed this? It always worked fine with previous iOS versions and previous iPhones going back as far as the iPhone 3G.

Thanks,
cinergi

Im sure there will be a software update coming soon as you will not be the only one with this issue. But if you must get if fixed now just add the letters H or M to the contact to differentiate the two. Once its fixed then merge them back together. Of course if you have a contact list as long as mine it could become quite cumbersome so I would keep it to the contacts I am most frequently in contact with.

Thanks, it's not critical for me (just annoying) so I will wait for a possible software update from Apple.

In the meantime, I've discovered another related issue: if I turn on my iPhone (from powered-off state) but don't unlock it before pairing with the car, the contacts don't load at all. I'm not sure whether this is another bug or a feature to increase security by preventing contacts transfer until the phone is first unlocked after powering on.
