I bring my car to the dealer because the rear 12v outlet, that I use for my cel phone charger is not working. The SA comes back 20 min later telling me is a fuse and that is not covered under warranty. I going to cost me 50.00 for a freaking fuse. After I ask to talk to his manager and tell him how is this posible he comes back telling me they will do it as a one time curtesy. How nice of them. Fields BMW in Orlando sucks. If they keep this up they will be the only reason why I don't by another BMW.

I don't know this for sure, but some fuse boxes already have spares incorporated. I am going to check this out tonight in my car. But if not, you should be able to find a reasonably priced kit with one of every amperage to keep with you in car.

I had a good experience at my one trip to Fields but then they knew I was going to pay and try to recover from my dealer later. Technically they were very good in this case (early days of snap in cradles for cell phones).

This is the reason alot of people dont buy a second BMW because of the service, when I had my 3 series I got treated like I had brought a fiat, its alot better with the 5, 6 and 7 but still not like it should be when your buying $50,000+ cars.

What is the deal with BMW service? I rarely have any good experience with them. I had to drive 60 miles away to buy my car because of the two local BMWs suck; they lied, nerver returned calls, and rude!

Funny thing happened to me:

Last two days when i start the engine in the morning i get a Warning message that there is an electronic malfunction. ELECTRONIC MALFUCTION - Stop the vehicle .....

A lot of lights will blink, the i drive fails, the revs and speedo start going crazy up and down...

The engine car still works fine and after sometime it will be ok.

Went to the dealer and connected the computer to check it. There was an error code showing in the memory that explained that i start and stop the car many times in small drives .... the car computer keeps in memory the number of times that started and the miles that ran each time and organizes the info like that: less than 8 kms - 10 times; between 10 - 20 kms - 7 times; ..... ; more than 100 kms - 2 times.

Crazy thing.... so the answer was like that:

You start and stop your car too many times try to avoid that.

AHA HA Ha Ha ..... i have got 94.000 kms in 22 months and of course i have to stop the car when going to the bank, coffe shop, office ...... to damn electric/electronic stuff that's the right answer to the problem... notice that they even program the AC to be ON always when you start the car ....

I asked the guy if it keeps the speed registration on the computer memory and he answered that it's possible to get the info. I asked him : Can you delete that registration ? ....... Ha ahahahha

Looks like the majority BMW service SUCKS!
However, we have a way to correct those service advisors. When you come in always try to mention to him that you always provided feedback to BMW NA phone survey in the past. He'd treat you nice right away because his score is vastly based on this.

I bought my wife a Mini Cooper Convertible last December (and yes the weather over here has been so bad that the roof has only been down once ) and as with the previous mini a fully itemised and computerised order form was produced for signing, so what went wrong? Next time spec your own model on the Mini web site and hand/send the printout to your dealer.

This is fascinating. You should see my other posts on "Electronic Failure." Mine occurs 10-15 minutes into cold start /morning commute. It's going in Friday again; they have NO clue.
