I still have and use mine. Could be that people are better at concealing them. Many units now have remote sensors that mount behind the front grille.

I have noticed that the cops aren't as aggressive with radar like they used to be. Could be budget cutbacks and lower staffing levels. But they are still out there. I went through a trap just yesterday...
