I got the bilstein b8 sport shocks installed with H&R lowering springs on my 530xi both were bought brand new installed the same time.. had them on a month now and the ride is EXTREMELY bouncy :/ especially at higher speeds 60-80 mph.. is it suppose to be like that? because when I had another set of h&r springs with the stock shocks I remember the ride being firm and more solid

I've heard only bad things with the combo you're doing. Specifically bouncy ride.

when I dropped it before on H&r it wasnt that bad only on certain roads just had to avoid the potholes.. but with this setup the car bounces like it has hydraulics lol I didn't have the carbon fiber hood or the trunk when I had it on before maybe the less weight now? .. you did tell me but from what I read members who have this setup said the ride was rough (which is what I would expect) nothing about it being crazy bouncy .. airbags coming next year I hope lol cant drop it on coils because of the roads here in NY

The car feels bouncy because the shock and spring combination is too stiff. This is a common complaint about Bilstein shocks with the E36 crowd. Bilsteins work best with the softer, stock springs.

I initially had H&R springs paired with stock dampers and it was very bouncy rebound after bumps bumps - took maybe 5 or 6 "ups and downs" before leveling off. Also the stock dampers would bottom out frequently so I decided to stiffen it up with Bilstein B8's. When I paired the H&R springs with B8's the bounce was a mixed bag - at high speeds the bounce was there but not as bad as before, and at low speeds it felt as it I was riding on the bump stops - no bounce but very harsh like the surface of the moon. I ended up going back to stock until I went with v3's, the only right way to do it for our cars IMO.
