Ok just got back from my mechanic

he couldnt remove my 4th cylinder spark plug and he said its stuck probably because there is a leak from underneth and stopping it form coming out

also my thermalstat was getting stuck and he said i need to replace it and he is also telling me i need to change my water pump too

wow! im in trouble

so i get parts for 15% off here in toronto but i need to find a good mechanic thats done this and that can give me a second opinion because my mechanic said he has never done a head gasket on a bmw 525i and he just suggested i sell my car

i got 140km on a 2006 525i but i maintain my car!

i dont know what to do!

i look forward to imput

thanks

Your mechanic said he had never done a head gasket on a 525i before and therefore you should sell your car? LOL take it to be inspected by another mechanic before you go any further

Hi, I'm in Toronto too and am wondering how you get the 15% off discount. Also, let me know which mechanic you end up going to, I'm under warranty still but will run out soon and want to be prepared. I also drive a 2006 525i but have only 60k on it so far. Thanks.

I would take it to a dealer for a full diagnosis. Your buddy is guessing at what's wrong with your car!!

im sorry but i question the experience and professionalism of this mechanic if he is suggesting you sell your car over a headgasket

one of my guys works on strykers at fort lewis here and if a human being can fix one of those, you can certainly fix a bmw headgasket

go to the dealer and see what they say and start hunting around for an indy shop

unless you're losing coolant, i dont think you have a bad head gasket. if the sparkplug is stuck, best bet to getting it out is when the engine is at full operating temp.

Yeah, doesn't sound quite right - what you were told by your buddy. I don't mean to say that he's incompetent, or anything like that - don't get me wrong. I'm just having a hard time believing that there is no other way to fix this. Keep us updated - I'm curious to see what the dealer tells you.
