Big rims and pod holes?

My Ride: E60 530i, Dynamic Drive, Xenon, Active steering, Navi Business, 17 inch 122, comfort seat, active seats, professional telephone, PDC, Logic 7, 6 CD box., probably the oldest E60 in the forum registered BMW in Munich marts 2003.

The other day I was ridding with a friend in his VW Bora with 18? 225/40 tires, he accidentally hid a pod hole, it wasn?t very hard, however, the tire lost pressure right away and an inspection showed that the rim had been bend badly. After this experience I?ve been paranoid about my 19? type 172M. I have my eyes on the road all the time on the watch for pod holes and try to drive on roads that I know. It almost takes the pleasure out of having such nice rims. How many of you have bend a rim, 19? or 18"? Could it be repaired?

About pot holes in the damn city I always drive very slow and carefully this way it does not matter and yes we have to watch out for those stupid hole on the road but it worth watching, I was cruising with one of my friends 20"s and he went in one not fast and there was no probs.

I had put 20s on my e60 1 month later I hit a pot hole and bent both rims on that side and blew out the tires, I placed a claim with the county and they sent out an appraiser shortly after I recieved a check for 2000.00
