Default BG 44k for 08, 528i

Does any one know or have used this type of fuel injector cleaner on 5 series with out causing any negative problems? If you have used it how many onces do your pour in a full tank? My car started to make a rough noise when I am waiting at a light. Just changed my spark plugs. Didn't notice any difference in the performance. So the rough idling is occuring when the car is warmed up and the tacometer reading is around 600. Car is making a low whirring noise at idle. Any suggestions would be welcome.

What should the tac read at idle when running properly? thank you

I used it. No problems here. I pour an 11 oz. can in. But some spilled out. Didn't have a funnel at the time. No difference in performance.

I use fuel injection cleaners on my vehicle all the time, after pulling the intake manifold I'm convinced it does little to nothing, atleast on my vehicle but that may be due to it being direct injection. If you own an N54 engine get a catch can!

I am a very skeptical person when it comes to additives. The only thing i have used that actually worked was Techron Fuel System Cleaner. I have tried everything else like BG, Seafoam, etc. Techron is used by the OEM guys like BMW, GM, etc. BMW charges allot for it but you can by it at your local auto parts store though not cheap. Again, i was surprised it worked.

Advance Auto is running a special on 20 Oz. Techron at $7.00 per bottle.

I still have some OEM BMW stuff in my garage for which I paid $11.50 each, plus shipping. I add one 20 Oz. bottle to the tank at fillup every 3-5000 miles. On average that adds about $1 to each fillup.

Chevron Techron is what is recommended by BMW for injector cleaner. Stuff seems to work. I use it here at work a lot.
