Go to this website and find the correct BMW part number:

BMW Parts - Authentic OEM BMW Parts direct from BMW of South Atlanta | BMW of South Atlanta It is one of the few BMW dealers that will give you the BMW part number for the item.

Now, go to one of these websites to obtain pricing:

www.ebmwparts.com

www.thebmwpartsstore.com

Sweeney Auto Parts -

BMW Parts - Genuine BMW Parts and Accessories - Save Money

Purchase the item and install it.

There is no repairing this item. Buy a new one and toss that one out.

Buying new one is the way if just one side. You can peel it completely but have to do all four. I am going to put an alcantara fabric on them but needs professional hand as some stitchings are required. You also can buy carbon fiber ones but they are way expensive.

Another option is to wrap the part in vinyl like 3M Di-Noc or Scotchprint 1080.

I've tried vinyl but it is really hard to put it on the areas where the buttons go and it tends to lift off also

You bought a BMW 5 series.

You are not going to improve on its interior appearance over OEM.

Buy OEM or live with it.

Nothing beats OEM for initial interior fit and finish

seems crazy to toss it out because its finish is shot.

i was thinking a few options, but wanted to see if anyone had done it before i mentioned it..

-Painting them gloss black, having body shop exp, painting isnt a problem.
do the buttons come out to prep it for paint?

-wrapping in matte vinyl and peeling all the rest off of it and cut a clean square out around all the window buttons.

-if i can make a template, my graphic shop has a machine that "laser" cuts it to spec. so if i make a template on illustrator i can make an overlay to be cut... and if that fails, have them make the template

If you can remove it from the door you will end up with a better result. They use soft touch paint on the interior Trim parts. If you google it you can locate a couple sources. Obviously you will need to sand it smooth and then paint the trim. If you can't locate the paint then I would use a spray adhesion promoter and satin back spray. Cheaper than replacing.

Did you remove the control panel from the door, or try and cover it in place?

Actually I did it without removing but I think even taking them off and puting vinyl or fabric would be really hard without leaving traces as the way in which they are constructed prevents from finishing them to be perfect. contacted several local upholstery shops in my area as well as online but all they sad would be hard. I see someone on eBay sells them dress in carbon fiber fabric and clear coated. If they did it I think still possible.
