I am very satisfied with the bently manual. I compare it to a hayes or chilton. Very easy to read and covers all the necessary in plain english for us non-bmw techs.

The E60 Bentley manual is good, but there are so many things on the E60 that you need a BMW scan tool for (ATF temp, etc). I haven't been able to find one of those for less than $3,500.
You can get basic OBD codes with the cheap readers, but for anything of substance you'll need the BMW tool.
