Just as the title says, - I'm in need of the coolant expansion reservoir tank, so where would be the best place to source one besides dealer.
Found some on ebay while doing a search, has anyone used these? Ebay Item

Maybe the dealer isn't the most expensive place for this replacement part - especially one that offers discounts for BMWCCA or Forum members?

I actually went to the dealer for this part when I did it - I cant remember the exact price but I can tell you it was in the ball park of the other vendors and you get the warranty on the part from BMW. It allowed me also to go that day and pick it up as it was in stock, and not have to wait for shipping etc...

Unless those on-line / oem sellers include other hardware RealOem lists the tank for less http://www.realoem.c...272&hg=17&fg=05

I had mine replaced in my 545i in January of this year when it burst. I was out of town on the road and didn't have tools so I had a dealer change it. I just looked at the invoice and it was $98.83 plus tax. Of course the labor was far worse.
If a dealer was close by or I was desperate time wise yes, I would go to the dealer for a few bucks on way or the other.
But when I have time I usually let the part come to me.

Where are you located - forum members might be able to give you a dealer referral who will give you a forum or BMWCCA discount. 25% isn't unusual ... check the dealer website before you shop or buy or you could just ask the parts manager for a discount.
