check the time when it beeps, most likely the hour chime, theres an option in the idrive settings menu to turn on/off the hourly chime

+1 We've all been there. Just disable it in i-Drive.

Note, I believe its called an hour memo function under setting time. The name doesn't give a clue to what it does.

yeah. first time i heard it i looked all around the car myself. i realized the hour had just changed.

i guess i will hit the OP with a preemptive answer, because it is coming... LCI= Life Cycle Impulse. last time i threw that in a welcome thread, the OP was like "i was gonna ask that". unfortunately you cant search for a 3-letter string. so there it is OP!

That's just made me realize, since I got my software update I lost my hourly chime. I'm gonna switch it back on, I quite like it. I thought it was classy when I first heard it.

I think I've read somewhere that it is supposed to remind you to turn on the radio or switch channel for hourly news.
