Hi Guys
I need some help in connecting battery tender to my 2008 BMW 528i. Thanks |
RTFM ... Should be in page #246 in your Owner's Manual ... the same location where the jumper cables go under the hood.
In case your car didn't came w/ a hard copy of the manual you can view it online in PDF pg #248 from http://www.5series.n...s_Manual_US.pdf GL! |

GL! That's where I connect mine (shown in the green boxes - positive and ground). I also pull up on the anti-theft switch (in the red box) to simulate a closed switch so the car can sleep  |

Thanks for your excellent pic.... can i leave my car on battery tender for 8 weeks with hood open ?
Is it safe to pull up the antitheft switrch ??? 8 weeks is a long time for a tender/charger to put even 1 or more amps into your battery. The better sytems cycle off when the battey reaches a certain voltage or charge on a time cycle. Make sure you don't overcharge the battery! The hood up with the switch activated will be fine. |
Get a wall outlet timer and plug the battery tender to it ... program it to turn on for 12 hrs once a week or 6 hrs every 2-3 days.

Red clamp to positive termial, black to ground. Plug in to 110 wall oulet. Let hood down to closed but not fully latched position. Leave indefinitely--it's a smart charger not a battery charger. Done.

If your battery tender is smart and puts out only enough current to keep the battery topped off.

I use the same thing on my 911 and it works great...battery in it is going on 9 years. By far the best $50 I've ever spent |
Allen, if you can send the pic, then it will be helpful.for all of us , thanks.
