RTFM ... Should be in page #246 in your Owner's Manual ... the same location where the jumper cables go under the hood.

In case your car didn't came w/ a hard copy of the manual you can view it online in PDF pg #248 from http://www.5series.n...s_Manual_US.pdf

GL!

That's where I connect mine (shown in the green boxes - positive and ground).
I also pull up on the anti-theft switch (in the red box) to simulate a closed switch
so the car can sleep

If your battery tender is smart and puts out only enough current to keep the battery topped off.
8 weeks is a long time for a tender/charger to put even 1 or more amps into your battery. The better
sytems cycle off when the battey reaches a certain voltage or charge on a time cycle.
Make sure you don't overcharge the battery!

The hood up with the switch activated will be fine.

Get a wall outlet timer and plug the battery tender to it ... program it to turn on for 12 hrs once a week or 6 hrs every 2-3 days.

Red clamp to positive termial, black to ground. Plug in to 110 wall oulet. Let hood down to closed but not fully latched position. Leave indefinitely--it's a smart charger not a battery charger. Done.

I have mine permanently wired to the locations shown by the green boxes. I then have the plug end of the cable running over to the location right by the red box. Whe I'm using the car...the cable just lays right there nicely tucked away (with cap on the plug). Whe I park the car...I just run the cable it out the top of the hood by the bottom corner of the windshield and hook it to the cable coming from the tender...the hood is fully closed...I don't ever have to open the hood to connect or disconnect the tender. I'll get a picture....this is as close to perfect as I can imagine. The routing from the batter conncetions to where the plugs lays was a little tricky...just took some time and patience...but it works great!

Oh...and mine is a Deltran battery tender...when attached to the car...it stays plugged in all the time. I use the same thing on my 911 and it works great...battery in it is going on 9 years. By far the best $50 I've ever spent
