Yeah so the last week I have been trying to figure out wtf is going on with my battery, I charge it, it works for 2 days during which I drive around and then the car wont start in the morning
The independent shop I am taking it too is asking 250 to run a diagnostic and replace the battery, I can save 50 bucks doing it myself, only problem is the dumbasses at the local parts stores don't seem to get what I mean when I say I want a good, exact fit battery? Anybody have any suggestions for a good, exact fit battery for a 2004 530i?

Let me Google that for you:

WRT discharge: it sounds like your alternator is dead since it's not charging the battery when you drive - unless you have what is known as undesirable driving (short trips).

I read that thread, thats how I was putting in the new one last week till I figured out it was the wrong size, and nobody seems to sell any with exact dimensions. I want to put in a new one and take my car in on Thursday for the guy to run a diagnostic on my battery and the alternator. But I need to find a suitable battery first.

I think you may have something gone wrong with your charging circuit but once a battery has gone bad it's almost impossible to bring them back -- even with a good charger.

If you don't have an honest independent mechanic, check for an AutoZone near you .. .. they'll run a basic alternator output check for free and they should stock a direct replacement battery for an '04 530. You may need a BMW shop to reinitialize some accessories after the battery is replaced.

Did you bother looking up the specs of the Werker 95R?
850CCA 15-9/16" x 6-15/16" x 7-1/2" 64.5 lbs.

Stock is 850CCA 15-9/16" x 6-15/16" x 7-1/2" 62 lbs.

There are others that fit too:
Duralast (AutoZone)49DL
AutoCraft Titanium 49-1 (Advance Auto)
Interstate MTP-93

If you have AAA Roadside Assistance, their mobile trucks sell and install replacement batteries. AAA did mine in July.. $140 for the battery, $4 labor, $10 old battery disposal fee, plus tax.. $167.32 total..done in 20 minutes. No problems since! I wrote a long post of my situation here:

What? No. But that's a topic for another thread.

Yeah I hit up Battery Plus and went their last night and ordered a Rayovac 95R battery 850CCA and same dimensions, ran me about 207 after tax and enviro fee. Was supposed to go pick it up today but I got a call from the guy at the store who said for some reason or another they had to cancel my order so I had to go get my refund, but anyway tommorow I am taking it to my independant guy here in Houston at MotorWerks, he's going to run a battery/alternator diagnostic for me and replace the battery for 200 (labor included) and if the alternator needs replacing hopefully my aftermarket warranty will cover it.

But thanks for the help guys!

Good luck! Post the diagnosis and repair notes here so others can see what the resolution is.
