hey guys, havnt been on the forum for a while, but i had another problem occur with my e60... The damn battery has died twice within the past 2 weeks, and i have not left anything on in the car, such as electronics or the headlights... any idea what might be the problem? Theres enough power to power the radio, interior lights, seats, steeringwheel, EVERYTHING, except for the engine... also one day it barely started ant the techometer had a bit of delay.. it remained at 0 rpm for a couple of seconds then it popped up to about 500rpm...

Hi, This just happened to me today!
BMW assist came out and did a diagnostic. It was a falty battery monitor/sensor lead - it connects right next to the battery.
For now, it is disconnected, and I have to get it to the dealer for a replacement.
The technician says it's quite common on E60's. Actually, he predicted this fault before even connecting the diagnostic computer to my car!
