battery charging

My Ride: 525ise, Dec 2003, Silver Grey, Black Dakota Leather, Bluetooth, 18'' Runflats, Folding mirrors, Automatic/man box,parking sensers front/rear,latest addition 645ci black saphire, with everthing on, nothing it does not have.

what would you say the minimum drive is to keep the battery charged.I have suffered recently from short journeys so not all of the heating fans will work

If I was having a chronic problem, I would buy a 12V trickle charger.

Possibly the heating fans are not going on becasue the car has not heated up yet.

apparently according to the service department there are 2 heater fans and if your battery is low the car will decide to use only 1 so if you put the fan on full the power only comes out as if it is on number 2

You're right, I've never had my fan o highest speed, so I would not know. But my system seems to be working well...
I guess some error will appear if battery was low on power, isn't it?

i only really notice because the air system is set to auto so when really cold it takes ages to get warm

That's normal. The E60 aircon is much more smart than aicon in other cars. It doesn't blow air if the engine is still cold. It will progresively increase the airflow as the engine gets warmer. This helps passengers and engine.
