Well it is not if we aren't already taxed more than most other countries when it comes to luxury cars but our esteemed government has just decided to raise the LCT from 25% to 33% on car with a value exceeding AUD 57123-. There reasoning is that if people can afford expensive cars they can afford to pay the tax on them...i have one word for them however i dont think it is appropriate to use it on this forum.

I would love a V8 or dare i say it a V10 5ER however you have to be extremley weathly to drive one down here.
On the positive side i have been fortunate enough to travell all over the world and although i seen some wonderful countries i still think Australia has one of the highest standards of living for an average Joe (sorry US friends i pinched that saying from you guys). And yes that comes with paying high taxes on not only luxury cars but just about everything.

A loaded 530i M-Sport on road will set you back AUD 130K ish (USD 123K) and a similar 550i would be AUD 180K ish and the mother load (M5) will cost you a staggering 250K ish.
