Hi guys,

I bought a backup camera for my 2006 525i and now I am getting a tail light malfunction error. The camera comes with a led license plate light.

- can I get rid of this error somehow
- also I am not crazy about the picture especially at night, anyone install a backup camera they are happy with (no errors and good picture)
- what do you guys think about this backup camera currently being sold on eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190503503381...#ht_5835wt_922
I don't understand why they claim it fits only 2008-2009 vehicles, the part number for the license plate light housing has not changed from 2004 - 2010 (Part# 63267165646)
I like the fact that the lux is 0.1, should look good at night

Thanks for the help,
Alex

I got mine from ebay but I think it was from a different seller in the US. The camera does however come from China though. I have not had any errors and its connected to my Xcarlink system. I do agree with you, the night time view is very weak from the light. Not sure what to do about that one.

I am also using xcarlink. Did you swap out the other license plate light to an led in order to match? I think I am going to pull the trigger on this other camera it has a 0.1 lux which is supposed to give you a pretty good picture at night. I hope it does not throw an I drive error!

No just installed the camera. I installed an led light but it was less intense. So removed it
