Hey guys just got back from My vacation to my Homeland Trinidad and Tobago. While i was their i decided to head over to the local BMW, dealership. when i walked in I seen a beautiful Silver grey with grey leather interior. After close inspection I noticed that the car came less equipped than our N. American Versions, while we have standard 17's on the 525's their 520's and 525's came with 16 inch alloys, the Car had no option to get the sport model, etc.

but the price really struck me, the base price and i mean BASE on the 520i, starts at 520, 000 Now take into account our dollar equals roughly 5.22 dollars over their (when I say ours i mean CDN Dollars, USD is about 6 to 1.

roughly thats 100 grand CDN for a BASE 520. I can almost get an m5 for that here. Not to mention they do not offer any such thing as leasing, Makes me wonder how these guys fork out that much cash for a car.

And to be honest, i have seen more e60's down their than my local area here in canada.

An M5 in Denmark is around 350.000 dollars... hmm... the 520 is around 109.000 dollars... It makes me wonder why I was born in a country like that!

Wow, I thought Ireland was expensive for an M5 at US$160,000.

Agree with the above, but the list price here is just a negotiating starting point, I personally would never pay the asking price.
Our cars here tend to be the UK spec

The cars are really, really expensive in Denmark.

But so are they overhere also.

My car costs ? 70,000 (approx. 84,000 US) with the extras.
In the US I would get a 550iA M-Sport for about the same money.

And a M5 is ? 133,000 overhere, that is about $ 160,000.

it makes me appreciate my e60 even more, I was over whelmed by the amount of people that were astonished that i had a 5. I guess cause its so pricey on the island.

Here in Sweden 90000$ for a M5.

Are these prices so high because of goverment tax, I know that in greece the tax is already in the MSRP price. If so, THAT SUCKS. I feel very lucky to be able to have a loaded 550 for $69000.USD. Only thing is I have to pay for health insurance. HAHA

Yes, government tax known as "import duty". The European Union is trying to enforce standardization across Europe so we might see these expensive prices (particularly Denmark) drop in the next few years.

Hi,
When i came to this forum i was amazed because 545i is almost the "standard" model. Then i realised you are almost all Americans and there it costs about half it does here in Portugal. Lucky guys, so don't complain about not having the costumized details, please! :)
