I installed video system with back up camera last year. Initially the camera would roll when the car was in reverse making this part of the system unusable. I ended up installing a power relay which fixed the problem. All has been ok until recently. I am having the rolling issue again but it only comes in the morning when it's cold outside. Any other time it's clear and normal. There is a splice for the power and ground to the camera that is covered with black electrical tape so I am wondering if this could be the cause and just needs to be re-done. I will probably play around with it in the next days but thought I would toss this out there to see if any of you have experienced anything similar to this.

Sounds like a good place to start looking Tony. Clean and solder those connections and cover in shrink wrap and see how that goes.
Could also try a different ground source. Use one of the many ground terminals that are throughout the car, or if you are on one of those already, try one that is further/closer.

Thanks Jim I plan to do this during the weekend and check the ground. Rain here tomorrow.
