I fit 2 adults very comfortably in the back seat but I've never driven a large SUV so can't really compare. The 5 will be great and you'll enjoy it so much.

Wow thats funny... worried if theres enough room for kids in the back of a 5 series... It makes more sense if it was asked for adults...
Adults don't poke at each other on even the shortest rides because they're irritated by the person sitting next to them to the point of making the driver pull over. At least most adults don't.

While on the subject, I would love a V5 if it had a privacy divider between the front and rear passengers. This could be used for ... you know ... uh ... safety reasons ... to increase structural integrity.

I have 3 kids Age 3, 8 and 11.
There is more than enough space at the back (even with the car seat for my 3 year old. ) Now if I could only get the kids to stop fighting about who sits next to the window

I have two children, both girls, age 2 and 5 and I would never put them in the back of my 5!!!
I throw them in the back of our 4year old Tahoe and let them have at it.....

Well I have been wanting a 5 for a long time now, currently drving a Suburban. I have a 7 and 5 year old, those of you with kids, is there enough room for them back there? I know it is not an suv but are your kids comfortble? Set things up for the move by getting the wife an XC-90. I know I will be happy with the car but need to make sure it will be functionable for the family when they are in it.

Thanks,

William
2 kids...no problem You'll be surprised how much stufff you can get in the trunk too!

Thanks for all the fantastic repsonse, I am going for it. We will still have the XC-90 to haul their junk, life is to short to have two SUV's.

I noticed several of you have the 525i, I know there has been much discussion but is the power adequate for those that have it or is the 530i a must. Finally I never really notice much talk about the standard stereo system, is it decent or do you need to upgrade to the logic 7.

Thanks again

L7 is the best factory radio system I've ever heard and much better than the standard, in my opinion. Try not to drive a V8, the power is incredible!!!! I was set on the 530 but made the mistake of trying out a 545 and got sucked into the I have to have it dilema. Both 525 and 530 are excellent cars and values! You won't go wrong with whatever you choose.

My neighbor went from a Suburban to a early build 2004 - his only complaint has been the number of software updates his car has needed - other than that, in his words "I'll probably be picking up another 5-series next year".
