average MPH/MPG

i thought it would be cool to have a thread that addresses MPG but also addresses it by showing how much city driving you really do. the best way to do this is to reset your MPH and MPG readings on the knob above the cruise control on the steering wheel. if you do this reset every time you fill your car up with gas, it should give you an average MPH you drive through each tank, plus obviously it will give you an average MPG for each tank. obviously the lower the average MPH, the more city driving you do (that or you coincidentally drive on a 20mph road every day or something
). also this is helpful so when people say they get 43mpg in their 550i, we can see that if their average MPH is 19mph, we know they are full of shit. ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)
my 2007 530i got 15.3 MPG with an average 23.2 MPH on the last tank of gas i had. but, i had my VANOS solenoid and a camshaft sensor and temperature sensor replaced this week also, so i'm expecting better this time around. will post when i get it.
would be cool to see people post:
type of E60 (525, 528, 530, 535, 550, etc.), average MPH on tank of gas, average MPG on tank of gas.
if enough of us pitch in, this could be a really useful thread since so many people ask about MPG so much on this forum. also, it would be helpful if posted results include results from a full tank of gas. thanks for any help!

we need car, average mph, and average mpg. just giving an average mph doesn't tell us anything about your mpg, and just giving us an average mpg also doesn't shed light on your driving conditions, which is kind of the point of the thread.
i don't think you did that right. the higher the mph, the higher the mpg. besides, if you really averaged 123mph over a full tank of gas, your license should be suspended immediately.
