Aux problem

Default Aux problem

hi
my 2009 e60 aux works for a short time then switched back to the cd even tho im using the aux has anyone had this and how to fix it as it driving me insane

Well that should be your stating point. Switch cable then check wiring and connector. It's a wired system so not much can be causing it

checked aux wiring and cant see anything out of the ordinary

All the way to the back of the iDrive connector. The wire should be good. I think if anything it's a connector or cable issue. Maybe the pins inside the plug wore out.

Had similar thing happen to a customer's car, it ended up being the mode button on the steering wheel was sticking and causing the source to change. Hope that helps.

Probably take it out and clean it.

I used contact cleaner (explosion proof) to clean around the buttons. That resolved the issue.
