I did a quick search and was not able to find any related posts...
Here's what I'm experiencing:
Upon starting up my car the other day...no Aux-In audio... Tried restarting iPod, skipping forward/back a track, new playlist...nothin'. The iDrive screen did not even register "Aux-In." So, naturally I tried "re-selecting" aux-in. Nothin'. Still not even a mention of aux-in on the screen.
Next I tried pulling up the CD changer. It worked! Frustrating...
Next day...worked fine. Problem self-resolved, right?
Nope. That afternoon, same drill.
This time, CD doesn't work either. In fact, aux-in not showing on screen, select CD - now aux-in shows (but not working. No audio what so ever). Switch to FM - now CD shows. Next, select aux-in - FM shows. Select FM - aux in shows.
So...anyone else experienced this type of issue? Is there a fix that I can do myself? Or, ugh, do I need to have my dealer fix?
Thanks in advance for any:
Advice
Suggestions
Sympathy
Feedback
Input...even a good bit of humor to lift my spirits!
**By the way...anyone have any new information on the upcoming iPod interface release date (other than it's delayed)?**
Frank

This may be an overly simple response - but is your aux cable fitted correctly? it could be just loose?

Cobradav - I think you're close...with the exception of: the service bulletin says something to the effect of problem resolved when switching to another source. That does NOT happen - I wish it did.
I'm wondering if it may be heat related. It has been wicked hot here in Denver. Though the problem is recent and the heat has been around for months, it does seem to occur in the afternoon/early evening, but not in the am.
I so don't want to take my car in...as much as I like those guys (and love oggling the new vehicles), it's a real pain in the rear.
Looks like I don't have much alternative...could I/should I hold out for the next gen iPod integration? ...right, that could be a while.
...on the plus side, I have been enjoying the pure sounds of my car.
Of course there has been a negative side to this as well -- my mileage has gone from a solid 23mp(us)g to 22.8 -- the awesome sound is soooooo much sweeter when the car is pushed...
Hope you all don't experience the same issues,
Frank
