Automatic lights
Hi,
I have a weird problem. When i set my light switch to auto, nothing happens. Headlights, lights in instrument cluster and dash lights will not turn on. But when i have my switch at auto and now i turn on my front foglights, everything works. So has anyone had this problem or knows what i have to do?

Interested,
In auto, it shouldn't just turn on if there is enough light, only when dark.
You didn't mentioned that if you have tried that or not.
Also, when on auto and you turn the fogs ON, it could be some kind of safety (never tried that) and it will start your lights.

Your daytime running lights should be on unless your Highbeam bulbs are dead. The fog lights puts the system on during the daytime.

Clean your headlights, my autos didnt turn on till I had my headlights restored to clear. Also check all your relays. Good luck.

This is a quote from the manual:
"In the switch position AUTO, the system activates and switches on and off the low beams in response to changes in ambient light conditions, for instance, in a tunnel, at dawn and dusk, and in rain or snow."
When you switch fog lights, in some countries the regulations dictate that it is not allowed to have fog lights without low beams, so when in AUTO and the light conditions are so that it is not necessary the switch on the low beams, they are switched on nevertheless because the fog lights are switched on.

Thank you all for youre answers.
In the switch position AUTO i blocked the rain sensor with my hand and the lights turned on but when i removed my hand it turned off. I did not know that the AUTO lights are connected to the rain sensor.
