we also have limitations here too, and also in Germany. I "only did 260 this Summer". But the top speed wud be more, but as there are idiots out there who comes in front of you from inner lanes, and I will wait for some BIG brakes that ease stopping from high speed.
I only do it 1s to feel how the car handles, very good

Accordingto my speedometer it was a bit over 155mph, like 155 and part of a needle on A81 coming back from Stuttgart (after the obligatory stau!) I did notice the gas gauge moved practically as fast ast the speeedometer though!

Last weekend, was able to "cruise" at 220kmh for about 10min as there was virutally no traffic and no trucks (I find overtaking trucks at high speed far too dangerous as one never knows if they change lanes last sec)
noise level remained very acceptable
I also found that the GPS starts to assume you travel at this speed for the remainder of the journey and started to suggest irrealistic arrival times. Too bad it is irrealistic

Not sure i really want to know since we are so lucky to have a speed limit here in the US, but i'm just curious about top speeds you have hit in your e60s. I've barely popped over a 100mph (vegas trip, maybe 110), however, at some point that will change!
I really thought Los Angeles had the worst drivers, but i'm beginning to alter that opinion...i think most of them have moved to San Diego! lol!

GPS timed 172mph (275 km/h)about 5 times in one week this summer back in Germany.
535d remapped and limiter increased. (to 290km/h I think, although it won't reach it)

hello,
another oil-burner speedo:
my 535d is remapped with 334hp and removed speed limiter.
i stopped pushing after it ran 174mph, real speed, measured by gps.
i'm driving to munich often, there's no speed limit on quite a part of the autobahn there.
i'd guess probably 2-5mph would have been left to increase speed..
