Hi E60 folks. I find that when I put my 2006 E60 with steptronic transmission into reverse, there is a clunk sound when engaging reverse. I'm not sure whether this is normal, but I seem to notice this sound also in most auto cars. Is this normal? Thanks

You car tends to roll back a bit after you engage P after you've been driving, which is the reason for the sound. If you put your handbrake, it wouldn't make that sound, and you should step on the brake firmly. Try this for a change, when coming to a stop, put your car to N, and release the brake, engage the e-brake (handbrake), then put your car to P. Next time you come around, you won't hear that sound again.
