As always, thanks BMW NA Customer Relations for monitoring this board! We truly appreciate the fact that you recognize this board as an important source of information on the E60 -- not only for us owners but also for BMW!!

Speedracer, be sure to update this thread after you call BMW NA so we can find out if there's a fix for this nagging problem...

On that note, where's BMW UK? Are they monitoring this site?

No doubt, they're getting ready for Charles/Camilla on Saturday.

Just want to say thank all of you guys (and gals). I can finally get off the meds perscribed by the BMW whiz mechanics on my '02 540 who basically told me I was crazy when I complained that my auto lights would stay on; that my keys didnt work the memory seats; that my auto wipers didnt work; that my nav jammed up; that the car wouldnt start; that the turn signals didnt work--all intermittently. Their service reports came back "couldn't duplicate customer complaint" "sensor dirty" "disc scratched" "operator error" all this bs. I actually ended up driving around with a video cam to prove that the intermittent problems existed. They eventually beat me because I ended up living with many of the probs. But finally, you all have validated that, quite simply, some of this stuff just doesn't work. Thank you. Now, if even one of you can write a note to my shrink... :'(

Yeah, but we didn't have any of those problems on our E39's. You might be crazy after all...

The Automatic head light issue should be solved with CIP 16.0. The light sensor module needs to be updated with this software. We updated one a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to work thus far.

I'd be thankful if BMWNA would actually provide some information rather than posting boilerplate and then when you call telling you something other than talk to the dealer. It was such a pleasure dealing with people from BMW AG when I was over there in comparison to BMWNA and American dealers.
