Does anyone know that under what conditions the auto headlight control will kick in and turn off the headlight during day time driving ?? I have the knob in auto all the times.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

Momentary shade should kick them on momentarily...

More seriously, there are many complaints about the auto headlight sensitivity. If you haven't already, check out the FAQ here for more information on how your dealer can adjust the sensitivity to make them come on when it actually gets dark outside...

I left them on auto (at very sensitive) for 2 days after getting the car. I found it to be to erratic and unpredictable still. So now I put it on auto (so I can get the adaptive feature to work) when it's dark/night and on manual when it's day (but I feel the lights should be on). This way, it's a lot more predictable.

I am curious.

Where are the light sensor(s) located? If they are interior, then window tint would likely affect them.

I run in Auto all (well almost all) the time, and my wife dearly loves it. She always has wanted me to turn the lights on sooner than I do. She's right you know, even when it isn't Valentine Day. Auto light does just that. I feel a little safer, too. No complaints here.

I found that my lights were coming on and staying on during brite sunlight. My sensor was tested and a fault was found, resulting is replacement. When the lights still came on during sunlight, I had the sensor setting changed to "very sensitive." The lights go on only when appropriate now (so far). It only took 10 months to get it right

I had my headlights come on at 3:50 PM the other day. And it was about 70 degrees and no clouds. Typical Florida winter day...

So, I'm going to have my sensitivity adjusted next time the car is in for service.

The problem is apparently the sun angle, so winter days are more problematic. The "very sensitive" setting works perfectly now...next thing: getting my auto wipers to wipe more often in light rain.

This issue is actually due to a software flaw. Version 16.0 of CIP should correct these issues.
