Hi,

In my e60 530i, there's a disk titled 'The BMW Group Navigation System, Version 10'.

Can someone please answer the folowing two questions?

1/ Do I have to leave this disk in the drive, or can I remove it and put a music CD in there (The vehicle has the stacker in the glovebox, but it doesn't play MP#s whereas the in dash drive does), without losing functionality?

2/ What is the latest version, and where can I get it economically? - This version doesn't even have eastlink! (A toll road that's been there number of years now)

Thanks for any advice

Hi Pauly...

Yeah, I think the most economical place to get the disc is from a website based just across the pond from you, in New Zealand... I think it's called megaupload.com

Pauly, I was joking. Haven't you heard what happened to megaupload?

Well. Now you don't anymore. Megaupload was seized by the feds. If you want a nav disc, just download a copy somewhere. I won't list any sites, because that's not allowed here, but you should have no trouble finding it. I downloaded the 2011 nav disc for my car and works like a charm.
