I've lived in Austin now for many years. Over the years, I've learned that the dealer isn't necessarily the best place for value nor accuracy with respect the service of many makes.

Since acquiring my BMW, with it being not CPO, and out of warranty, I've decided to explore the options outside of Austin BMW (who apparently aren't that great anyway).

Having been to Paul's MotorWerks for the brake and oil fluid change and general overall checkup, I can't complain about the price nor the service, although the location's lack of paving leaves something to be desired.

I was wondering if there were any other local owners who could chime in with their experiences in relation to service (in or around Austin, TX) at the dealer or otherwise.

IMO this forum is not large enough to really be able to offer more than a suggestion or two in a locale like austin (i've seen maybe 2-3 people that live there on this board). i haven't lived there in 5 years, so i am of no help. though i am on a camaro message board for my old car still and have been for years. it is a huge community nationwide and i have several different mechanics i can recommend in dallas depending on the type of work needing to be done. so, if yelp doesn't serve you well, you may want to look into browsing larger forums/google for that info.
