BMW Group vehicle sales this August were down a significant 11.1% when compared to last August. YTD sales for the first 8 months of 2005 were up only 3.0%.
Sales of the X Series were down 35.2% when compared to last August while car sales were also down 1.2% relative to August, 2005 as every series except the 5 and Z4 series had a poor month.
Sales of the BMW brand were down 12.2% this month when compared to last August.
Total MB sales of 20,602 units this month increased 6.9% when compared to the total of 19,267 sold last August. YTD 2006 sales for MB are up 13.3% thanks to the introduction of the R and GL Class models and the significant upturn in sales of the S Class.
Please note that I report only United States sales data.
