twh,

If I'd have done ask you said earlier:

"(3) Now check each wire to ground. This resistance should be very large (M ohms)."

it would have saved me a lot of troubleshooting I didn't have any auto range on my DMM and I had set the ohm to a far to low setting so I didn't see any change in resistance :'( Lesson learned!

Thanks for the tip, I have the exact problem at the moment with audiable hiss/background noise when the car is on. It's not bad, but I have to adjust my gain on my amp way too low.

I'll try a re-calibration with a higher output level in the weekend when I have more time.

Sorry to hijack, but I have an Audison Bit Ten linked up to MASK on a 2009 car and im hearing distortion pretty much independant of volume when using the head units output. If i plug my phone into the audison and listen to that in car all sounds great so i dont think the problem is with anything except the head unit. Do you have this issue?
