Question

Had some tyres changed on my wifes car today and asked how much a runflat tyre would cost to fit an E60 (no specific size) but the guy knew the type etc.
?250 each plus.

Anyone bought any? I haven't seen anything mentioned on a previous topic.

Sounds about right for a front tire

Ask about a 18" rear.

But dont worry, they use normal tires on the 19" on the E60, E90 has 19" Run-flats at a list price from BMW of almost 500 Euros each for the rears

Hopefully prices will come down soon due to the number of cars starting to use them.

Continetal has started making 16 and 17" run-flats here for the factory, and have said due to the amount they will now make they will only cost about 9% more to buy than regular tires

Now you know why so many of us worked so hard to get BMW to replace ours for free...

Runflats are about 20% to 30% more expensive than 'normal' tyres. Of course you're going to fit a 'premium' brand (there's no 'cheapie' run-flats, yet) so they're not going to be cheap...

My 275/35/18 rears are over ?210 just for the tyre alone (each) and then fitting on top... The nearest non-RF (dunlop) is ?160 (Still not 'cheap')

Your 275/30/19's are going to be a touch more!

Have a look at MyTyres

I bought one to replace the rear passenger tire when I picked up a giant chunk of steel on I-235 (which is under continual construction). Costs: $315 for the tire, labor $45, shop supplies $12.50, tax $22.35.

TOTAL COST, ONE RUNFLAT: $394.85.
